Nighttime Giggles

It's 12:30 a.m. this stressful Tuesday morning, and my mind won't turn off. Adulthood and childhood have some similarities...the one on my mind is having a hard time falling asleep.

The difference is this:

Verses:

To be a kid again. While I've been worrying about all the adult things we worry about, my boys were having a hard time falling asleep for another reason. Ethan couldn't stop "tooting". The boys were dying of laughter for about an hour. Just as they would lay down and settle down to sleep, a giggle would escape my 5 year old's mouth and then my 8 year old would explode with laughter.

I would gladly take that distraction over this one.

A new way for family travel

I know what I want before our next family vacation...A quiet ride to our destination. How to do it? National Geographic KIDS gave me the perfect solution. For those of you with multiple children, you know what I'm talking about when I say there's always one child in the family who is gifted...gifted with annoyance. They know how to push everyone's panic buttons, throwing the perfect moment into chaos. Well, I have found a solution thanks to National Geographic KIDS. Here's a clue:

Anyone guess it yet? It starts with the internet and just a bit of pocket change (a credit card-you can look for change later. This is urgent; there's no time to waste looking under couch cushions. You've got to get the whole family packed-which will take days). We've got to start with a few supplies of course:

You would think this would be enough, but no, just the site of this kiddo upsets the nest and the other children don't deserve this treatment. After all, they are the little angels. Next, a 1984 Aerospatiale AS355F1. I found it on controller.com. It's newly painted, interior is refurbished and it has A/C. It's on sale even...for only $555,000. We'll worry about the price later and just pretend you have that much credit on one of your credit cards. We're dreamin' here.

Get some ties, rope and a hook and we're nearly there:

Genius isn't it?! This will cut down on travel time, we'll ride in style AND the other kids will be mesmerized the whole ride. Can we get this Taylor? Can we? Think my husband would agree?

WHY THE NAME?

Humble because life is a constant reminder that we should never be prideful. If pride trumps our sense of humility, soon we’ll be face planting into gooey humble pie. The saying, “to eat humble pie” means to apologize for a large or humiliating mistake. How many times have I eaten humble pie this month...oh, at least 3 times. My stomach is bloated and gurgling cusses so I think I need to give it a rest.

Bumble, truthfully because someone else took my domain name, but I'm grateful because this compliments the theme of my blog. My blog touches on life and bumble is accurate to the craze and rush of life. Have you seen the entryway of a beehive?

Jumble because isn’t life in this century naturally a disorderly heap of activities and a medley of thoughts? My mind can hyper-focus on a topic for hours (ask my friend, Colleen) and yet, generally you can call me Doug. “Squirrel!” I’m ready for my next blog topic... now for a good jog, now for a bowl of ice cream, now for a good book, now for jumping on the trampoline with the kiddos...now creating family yearbooks…….and yes, all those thoughts ran through my head in 10 seconds. Really, there's no theme to this blog except for a jumble of topics, a smattering of thoughts...enjoy.
